DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ
Back in May 2007, an editor at PC World Magazine was fired because he wanted to publish a story that painted one of their advertisers in a bad light. Story here:

The point here is to never rely on one source for product reviews. Ask your friends, neighbors, your computer guy, etc. There was a similar story a few years ago with Amazon.Com. A program error caused the real names of the Amazon reviewers to be shown and what was revealed was that authors, using formerly hidden usernames, were reviewing their own books, awarding them 5 stars and skewing the ratings system.
