Access any computer, remotely for free!

Try Crossloop (www.crossloop.com). They have a great program that once you install it, you will be able to connect or allow someone to connect to you. I was using LogMeIn and paying >$125/mon for it, and this, a little slower, is FREE.

AT&T - Saint Alphatucky

I love this ad campaign (hate the service, but beholden to them for another 6 months). They have a web site where it will combine three cities into a new one, for a t-shirt, coffee mug, etc, very catchy and creative. Just don't put in Shiner (Texas) and Pittsburgh, or you might be offended :)

Recycle Your Equipment

Ok, so I'm a big COSTCO fan. They've partnered with GreenSight to pay you money for your 'old' but could be valuable equipment. Not great prices, but $$$ is good.

How Easy Is Your Wireless Network to Break Into?

You might remember that TJ MAXX had a big problem with drive-by hackers, attaching themselves to their network through weak WEP security. Do you have WEP on your network? Do you know? Is your password a word, phrase, or 10 hexidecimal or 26 hexidecimal characters? Would you believe that the hexidecimal is easier to crack? Here's the CBS News story here:

How To Handle a Broadband Outage

With a Router, NEVER HIT THE RESET BUTTON ON THE ROUTER. It will remove all of your personalized settings and will have to be reset. If you have a cable modem, turn off the modem and the router. Turn on the modem until the link light goes solid, then, plug in the router. If it's a linksys WRT54G router (Wireless G, my favorite), the power light will start blinking and then go solid. You're done. With DSL service, Turn off the router and the modem. Turn on the modem until the DSL sync light is solid, and then turn on the router. The power light will blink and then go solid. And you're done.
